Kallie Crawford

Associate

Kallie Crawford is a criminal attorney in Virginia. She is in court every day, successfully advocating on behalf of clients. Kallie fights for clients at all levels of Courts throughout Virginia.

Kallie understands that behind every case, there is a person whose life, family, and future may be affected by the outcome of the case. The most important part of any successful representation is developing a complete understanding of not just the facts and law of each case, but the background, circumstances, and dreams of the people she represents.

Prior to joining Krum, Gergely & Oates, LLC, during law school, Kallie worked for both local and federal government agencies. First at The Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in their Homicide Division. Second at the United States Attorney’s Office in Washington D.C., in their General Crimes Division. Kallie has also given back to her community by working pro bono with the Allegheny County Veterans Clinic, defending the men and women who have previously served in the United States military.

Kallie Crawford earned her law degree at Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. At graduation, Kallie was presented with both The Shalom Trial & Moot Court Award and Outstanding Oral Argument Award. A Pennsylvania native, Kallie also received her Masters in Forensic Science and Law and Bachelors in Biochemistry, with Minors in Biology and Mathematics from Duquesne University.

Kallie’s unique forensic background distinguishes her from other criminal attorneys. She has had the ability to participate in a criminal case from start to finish. When interning with the Pittsburgh Police Department, Kallie did everything from simple ride alongs to processing entire crime scenes with Forensic Techs, the Arson Squad, Auto Squad, Narcotics & Vice, Homicide, SWAT, and K-9 teams.

As part of her schooling, Kallie was trained in Forensic Investigations, Blood Spatter, Serology & DNA, Toxicology & Drug Analysis, Latent Fingerprint Analysis, Trace Evidence, Firearms & Toolmarks, Explosives & Arson, and Laboratory Quality Assurance & Administrative Management.

Kallie Crawford is also an accomplished writer having published two research studies on the sexual assault kit backlog in Pennsylvania. She has presented such research to the scientific community at local, state, regional, and national conferences, and received a number of awards for her research. Kallie’s ability to thoroughly research and write about the law, has also lead her to be published in both the Third Edition of Scientific & Expert Evidence and the Sixth Edition of Scientific Evidence. Her research ability even allowed her to become a research assistant to the Honorable Anthony M. Mariani of Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas, Criminal Division, in Pittsburgh. Due to Kallie’s extensive forensic science background, she can qualify as an expert witness.

Kallie continues to hone her skills as an attorney through membership in a variety of professional organizations. She is currently a co-chair of the Wills for Heroes program with the Virginia Bar Association and maintains active membership with the American Bar Association, American Academy of Forensic Science, and Phi Alpha Delta.
